The Alamo Heights Presbyterian Church Day School

The Alamo Heights Presbyterian Church Day School (AHPCDS) exists as an evangelistic outreach serving the community on behalf of Alamo Heights Presbyterian Church. The Day School is a non-profit ministry whose purpose is to provide children with a loving, secure environment for educational, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth. The staff and teachers of AHPCDS seek to witness to children and their families about God’s love, therefore exhibiting concern for all children, families, and co-workers. We strive to demonstrate our faith and commitment to this ministry in all that we do and say.
Our Philosophy

In our work, we put great focus on one thing – the welfare and education of your child. In order to properly encourage your child’s personal and academic development, our professional educators follow a unique pedagogic approach that combines academic excellence with a free-spirited and playful atmosphere for learning. Our teachers regularly participate in educational seminars and always bring new ideas and input to their daily tasks. These ideas are passed on to your child in playful exercises and diligent study sessions.

Little children often get sick. You should keep your child at home throughout the duration of the illness so as to expedite the healing process and avoid getting the other children sick. When your child is ready to return to day care, we would appreciate a note from their doctor indicating that they are free from contagions.

We understand many children have dietary restrictions due to allergies, religious beliefs and/or personal preferences.  Should you wish to limit or forbid certain food items for any reason, please notify us beforehand and we will ensure that no offensive food item is served to your child.
